YEAR 1

FROM THE CLASSROOM
It has been another busy and exciting week in Year 1. Thank you to all the families for coming to our Student Led Conferences. The students really enjoyed sharing their work with you.
In Mathematics, students have been exploring location and positional language. They coded BeeBots to follow a path and created maps for students to follow. Students played games and used ordinal language to describe who came first, second or third.
In Writing, students have continued learning our new text 'Hansel & Gretel'. They are exploring using adjectives to describe the time of day, weather and setting. Students used sentences from the text as a model to create their own sentences. They also identified sentences from the text that used our focus toolkits.
In Inquiry, students have continued investigating our new unit 'Schools Then and Now'. Students participated in some fun 'olden times' games such as hula hoops, hacky sacks, jacks and hopscotch. They had a great time playing with others and learning the rules for these games.
