Choreo Creating

We have been focused on 8 beat counting during our dance lessons this past fortnight and it's been a game-changer for group timing. Students have been building on their Hip Hop knowledge and self expression to choreograph their own dance routines to perform at the end of each class. This has required team work, courage, clear crisp movements and timing. It's been terrific seeing students enjoy creating something unique and special in their groups even if they haven't previously seen themselves as a 'dancer'.

SHOWTIME SUCCESS!! Wizard of Oz with Warrandyte High

Well done to our 'Wizard of Oz' cast who completed an impressive 4 performances over a big weekend recently as part of WHS production as munchkins, flying monkeys, flowers, Oz residents plus more! Thank you parents Gavin, Cam and the Warrandyte High production team for giving our students this opportunity. Special mention also to our teacher Peta Dibb who coordinated wardrobe and created some of the costumes, including the delightful Poppy hats for our students. So much work goes into productions like this and we are grateful to each of you for entertaining us so well.

Hand-crafted Instruments

I thought I'd leave this section in again for this edition as these kids are just so cute with their creations and they deserve a full month of celebration! A focus this term in Prep and Grade 1 this term has been about using imagination and experimentation to explore musical ideas and sounds. The instruments are created with love and exploration of the different sounds and pitches (high/low) different materials can make.

Happy Holidays and see you back in Term 4,
