Grade 5: High school experience at WHS
Our Grade 5 students had been invited to Warrandyte High School on Monday the 16th, where they will experience a taste of high school life! They were engaged in exciting learning activities, high school style! The students had a blast completing two mini lessons, one in Science and one in STEM.
In the Science mini lesson, they learnt about how to use a microscope and were looking at different objects close up. Including snake skin, feathers, sugar, sand and even looking at our own hands and fingers to see if we had washed them!
In the STEM mini lesson, students started by exploring what S.T.E.M meant and looked at different projects that the highschool students had completed in different year levels. From book shelves to model bridges and even jewellery. Students also were given the problem of ‘how would someone be able to pick up a piece of paper if they couldn’t move’. Students then made little prototypes of extendable grabbers. They used popsicle sticks with split pins and little blocks.
The students had an amazing time and really showed our school values to all teachers, year 7 leaders and each other. Students were also awarded with their official ‘Warrandyte High School Stem and Science licences’.
The Grade 5 students and teachers would like to thank Warrandyte High School and Mr Caruana for the opportunity to experience high school life.
Dancing Fever at the ACPS Silent Disco
On the 3rd of September we had a whole school silent disco. The Grade 5/6 Students all got dressed up in their Neon and danced the night away. Students were loving the Taylor Swift channel and were all dancing to the Nut Bush with Mr Webber, Miss Black, Mrs M, Miss Buzzini and Mrs Callaway. We all loved the night and really showed our best dancing moves.
Thank you to all parents, carers and students. Enjoy the holidays, see you in Term 4!
