Regional Athletics
On Wednesday October 9th, our school proudly participated in the annual Regional Athletics Day, an event that showcased the incredible talent and determination of our young athletes. This was hosted at Moonee Valley Athletics Track, the day brought together schools from across the region to compete in a variety of track and field events.
Among the highlights of the day were several standout performances from our athletes. Dolly, who not only secured personal bests but also qualified for the State 1500m. Her dedication and hard work in training truly shone through on the track.
Congratulations to Blake, Asra, Valerie, Charlotte, Charli, Evyenia, Ethan and Paletaufaasee on their participation and representing the College in a fantastic day. Weare proud of all our athletes for their hard work and determination and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for our talented team.
Basketball Girls – Year 7’s and 8s
Altona sports stadium hosted the recent basketball competition for our Year 7 and 8 girls’ teams, showcasing determination and resilience. While our Year 7 Team faced a challenging defeat, our Year 8 Team achieved an impressive victory, advancing to the regional round.
We would like to extend our gratitude to both teams for their commitment and sportsmanship. A special thanks to the coaches (Mary Mailia, Shannon Page, Brendan Curmi and Robert Gagovski) who encouraged the players and made this event possible. The year 8 team will play on Thursday 31st of October, stay tuned for the results.
Cricket Mixed – Year 7’s and 8’s
The Year 7 and 8 Cricket Day was held recently and it was a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. The event brought together students in a spirit of friendly competition across Year 7 and 8.
We achieved victory in 2 out of the 3 games we played. A huge thank you to all students who participated! Your enthusiasm and sportsmanship made the day enjoyable for everyone involved. It was wonderful to see you supporting one another, regardless of the match outcomes.
AFL Academy Celebration Day
Over two days at the Tullamarine indoor football venue, students from different year levels engaged in friendly competition.
On Day 1, the Year 9 students organized and ran a tournament for the Year 7 and 8 teams, showcasing their leadership and planning skills. The event was spirited, and Aaisha and Lauren's team emerged as the champions.
Day 2 brought together the Year 9 and 10 students for their own competition. Adam Keir Biek took on the captaincy for his team and led them successfully to victory, highlighting both his strategic skills and teamwork.
Overall, the excursion offered a great opportunity for skill-building and team bonding across year levels.
