Primary Proms 2024
Congratulations to the Year 3 Choir participants who performed this past Tuesday evening at Sydney Town Hall as part of the Primary Proms - Coorong Concert combined choir. Thank you to the families for your support, and special gratitude to Mrs O'Shea and Ms Hanks-Ruttyn for leading the choir and making the Proms experience possible.
Festival of Children's Music 2024
The Festival of Children's Music will include select members of our Year 4 Choir performing in a combined choir at The Concourse Chatswood on Thursday 24 October.
In addition, we are honoured to have the Orchestra selected to perform as an item at the Festival of Children's Music.
Thank you for your support of the music program.
Community events: Brass and Percussion learning opportunity
The Northern Beaches community band, Warringah Concert Brass, is holding an open rehearsal these school holidays for brass and percussion players. Youth musicians have a opportunity to sit in on and be mentored at the Warringah Youth Brass Band open rehearsal. The rehearsal is a good opportunity for students at AMEB Grade 4 and above. The workshop takes place Sunday 13 October 3:00pm-5:30pm at Terrey Hills Public School Hall, and carries a fee of $20. Please contact the Warringah Brass Band for further information and to register: warringahbrassband@gmail.com
Ensembles and Choirs
Please continue to practice your ensemble and/or choir repertoire over the school holidays - amidst a welcome period of rest! We will resume ensemble and choir rehearsals at the start of Term 4.
Instrument ensembles will resume rehearsals in Term 4 Week 1, with the exception of Chamber String Ensemble. We will launch the term with Concert Band and Guitar Ensemble rehearsals on Day One of Term 4, Monday 14 October. All other ensembles will resume their regular timetable. Chamber String Ensemble rehearsals, however, will resume on 21 October (Term 4 Week 2).
Thank you for your ongoing involvement in and support of the music program. We have enjoyed a full and exciting festival season, and look forward to Term 4.
