Pyjama Day

Thank you to all the students at Chatswood Public School for wearing your PJ's on Monday! The SRC raised $1070 through all of your donations on the day for the Sydney Children's Hospital! A phenomenal effort and worthwhile cause to recognise in fundraising. The students (and staff) enjoyed their day dressed in comfy PJs, with an opportunity to show off their relaxation wear.

Term 4

Students are to return to school next Term on Monday 14 October.

We wish all students and families a relaxing and safe holiday break!

WriteOn Writing Competition

Congratulations to Scarlett Foo for her bronze award winning story and Lucas Wong for his gold award winning story in this year's WriteOn writing competition. Both stories have been published in the 2024 anthology, and deserve much recognition for their creative writing efforts. Lucas was selected to read his moving story at the event and presented his writing piece eloquently.

Staff vs Students - Basketball

On Monday this week, the 'Friendly Sport' Leadership team ran a teachers verse students basketball game. Everyone played fairly, showed sportsmanship and inclusiveness. Thank you to the Leadership Team for your organisation, refereeing and for coordinating these games in Term 3. Next term, the team will continue to host 'friendly' games as CPS students enjoyed it so much this term!

Pacific Highway Gates

We have consulted with our WHS Advisor from the Health and Safety Directorate who attended the school to review the suitability of the existing driveway and gate on Pacific Highway as a possible pedestrian entry and egress point.

We have been advised this access is designed for vehicle access for deliveries and emergency services.  Due to its location on Pacific Highway, restricted line of sight for vehicles entering the site and the lack of pedestrian safety barriers restricting direct access to and from Pacific Highway, we have been advised that this is not a suitable option for pedestrians and to use it for this purpose poses a substantial safety risk.

The school has stationed staff on duty to direct families towards the stairs and across the footbridge to help alleviate the flow out of the school. Currently, the footbridge is highly underutilised in the afternoon and we recommend for families who are able to use this crossing point.

School Photographs - late orders

If you would like to order school photographs for your child/ren please follow the instructions below.

Student Emails

From Day 1 Term 4, the department will be restricting the use of student email addresses for signing up for and recovering access to all social media, gaming, instant messaging and similar platforms. These restrictions are to ensure student emails are only used for their intended educational purposes, this will also increase data protection for students and reduce the cyber security risks to the department.

Students have been informed that by Day 1 Term 4, they need to update any logins to third-party sites that are not for educational purposes. Please support your child by having a conversation with them about what platforms they currently use with their department email, and how they can use a personal email for third-party sites.

P&C Funding

STEAM Technology Resourcing

A huge thank you to the P&C for contributing funding towards the below technology equipment and bin covers. Having the appropriate storage facilitates for our technology and robotics ensures that our equipment is cared for and lasts as long as possible.

The bin covers have been a student project which our Student Leadership Team have worked on and requested funding for via the P&C in Term 3.

Thank you for providing us these wonderful resources for our school community.
