Division Athletics

We had a a number of Chilwell students who had successfully competed in the District Athletics Competition and secured their opportunity to represent Chilwell Primary School at the Division Athletics. Last Tuesday 10th of September these students travelled to Goldsworthy Reserve, Corio and gave it their best go. Thank you to Amy and Elise for helping make this day possible!

🎤Vocal Recording🎤

On Monday 2nd of September all students from Prep to Six participated in the vocal recording for our concert in the Performing Arts room with Greg from Total Events. Congratulations to everyone that sang on the day, the result was fantastic and we are very happy to with the result. Looking forward to our school concert on Wednesday 18th September and I can't wait for you all to hear what an amazing job the students did on this day. A big thank you to Greg from Total Event for his help on the day.

🗣️Inter-School Debating Competition - Round 4

On Wednesday 11th September, our Year 6 Chilwell Debaters hosted Round 4 of the Inter-School Debating Competition. Chilwell A competed against Highton Primary School A and Chilwell B competed against Point Lonsdale C. As the hosts, we brought in delicious snacks and drinks to to share with the Highton and point Lonsdale debaters.

Chilwell A debated first and were arguing for the affirmative topic, 'That we should pay to park along the Great Ocean Road'. Chilwell B debated second and argued for the negative with the same topic. We only had 30 minutes to write our speeches before getting up and speaking.

Although it was a tough topic with limited arguments, both teams came out victorious with best speaker awarded to Caitlin W. (Chilwell A) and Chase M (Chilwell B).

We had a good time getting to know the other teams, and although it was nerve-wracking at first, it ended up being a fun afternoon of teamwork and debating. Thank you to Mr Cole and to Mrs Stephenson for coaching us each week.

Team A has now won 4/4 debates and Team B has won 3/4 debates, so we are hoping to make it to the semi-finals next term. Wish us luck!
