PRINCIPAL UPDATE
Good afternoon,
First of all a big congratulations to Mr C, Cleo and Cassidy for their new baby Vincent Mannix!
Thank you everyone for your amazing support with the Colour Fun Run. I would like to acknowledge Elise Hultgren and the Grade 6 School and House Captains for their efforts with this.
We are very excited to be ordering the new drinking taps and can’t wait for them to be installed.
We were very excited last week to unpack 100 new sports tops for Athletics, Cross Country and Inter-school sports.
There certainly will not be a shortage now for the next school events.
Thanks again to our community for supporting this with the Toastie Truck and commission raised from uniform sales.
Thanks to our House Captains for assisting in the unpacking and organisation of these.
Just a reminder to all families that they must be washed and returned to school immediately after each event and not held at home in anticipation for future sports.
Last week we officially farewelled Lisa Harmer from the staffing group. Lisa has taught at Chilwell for many years and been an extremely valued member of the staffing team and community. We wish Lisa all the best in her new role and look forward to her continued partnership with the school as a parent of Ollie and Easton.
We also farewell Greg Brown this week who has undertaken the maintenance role here for the past few years. We thank Greg for his efforts and wish him all the best in the future. We have replaced him temporarily with a gardener and maintenance person that will commence next week.
Thanks again for your feedback in relation to languages here at Chilwell. We are going ahead with recruitment of a French teacher with the intent of introducing this to our school next year. We will keep you posted, and hopefully will be introducing you to our new French teacher in the coming months for the 2025 school year.
Our new Sensory garden design has gone to tender and excited that this project will commence in the coming months. We will send confirmed designs out to the community this week and can’t wait for this area to be transformed for our students. Thank you to Virginnia Gilham for her work with the architects and design team in bringing this project into fruition.
I am very much looking forward to the Concert this Wednesday evening. The students have been working so hard on their performances and I would like to thank Meegan Baker for her amazing efforts in bringing this together.
Please keep an eye out on all calendar dates for term 4. It is a busy one again with the Amazing Art Show, 3 camps, multiple excursions and the welcoming of our new prep students for 2025.
Have a fabulous break everyone and see you on the 7th October.
Kind regards,
Meg
