Principal's News

Mr Brian Anderson

Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach the end of another successful term at St Francis Xavier, I reflect on the many achievements we’ve celebrated since our return in July. The term has been filled with opportunities for our students to shine and grow in confidence, from our whole school Masses, Grandparents Day celebrations, and Book Week, to the Regional Athletics, Friendology Launch, Winter Sleepout, SFX Olympic Games Competition, Heroes Among Us Art Exhibition, Public Speaking Finals, Father’s Day, our School Readiness program, and the school musical. Each event has enriched our community and strengthened the bonds between students, families, and staff.

One of the most significant moments of the term was the Opening and Blessing of our new building and playground last week. It marked a pivotal chapter in the history of St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School. Father Richard led a beautiful blessing ceremony, and Peter Turner, CEO of Sydney Catholic Schools, officially opened the new building alongside Father Richard and myself. We were honoured to be joined by Sr Therese, Sr Leon, Sr Judith, Sr Patti, and Sr Mary, all of whom share a long-standing connection to the school and live out the Ursuline Charism in their daily lives. Our distinguished guests from various Sydney Catholic Schools directorates were thoroughly impressed by the students' behaviour, responses, and joyful singing, which truly showcased the spirit of our school.

As we navigate to the end of term, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to making it such a productive and joyful time for our students. Your ongoing support and commitment to the children in our care is deeply appreciated.

Please enjoy some quality time with your families during the holiday break. Rest assured, we will keep you all in our prayers, asking God the Father for a safe and restful holiday for each of you.

Take care

Brian
