Jump Rope for Heart

Jump Rope for Heart is the Heart Foundation’s primary school skipping challenge that helps kids move more, have fun, and raise funds for life-saving research and programs. This year we’ve got an audacious goal to see our student Heart Heroes at PMPS log 40+ hours of skipping throughout the program!

Register your child online, so they can receive the full benefits of the program and participate in online fundraising.

Students will be skipping throughout the term in PE lessons, during this time you can share their online fundraising page with family and friends to help raise money for this great cause. We will hold our school Jump Off Day in the last week of this term, this will mark the end of the program and is a chance for everyone to come together to skip and show off their newly learned skills. More information will be released closer to the date.

Thank you for supporting the Jump Rope for Heart program!

Life-long benefits

Sitting less and being active for 60 minutes or more each day has plenty of health benefits for primary-aged children. Research suggests that active children are more likely to become active and healthy adults, with a lower risk of developing preventable diseases, including heart disease, stroke and some cancers.

Athletics

On Tuesday 15 October, 25 PMPS students proudly represented Port Melbourne Primary School at the Beachside Division Athletics Competition. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our athletes for their hard work, dedication, and effort they put into their training and performances. Their commitment to their sport is truly outstanding.

We would like to extend a special congratulations to Olivia H, Danielle, Jessica, Michaela, Olivia G, Tomi, and Chuck for their remarkable achievements in placing in the top three of their events.

Next Monday, the 21 October, we wish Olivia H, Danielle, Jessicia, Michaela, Olivia G, and Chuck the best of luck as they compete in the Southern Metropolitan Region Athletics Carnival, having qualified by placing in the top two of their events. We are so proud of your accomplishments and will be cheering you on all the way!
