TRACES OF LEARNING

Last term, our 3-6 teachers began working collaboratively with Jarryd from Traces of Learning to design and plan Geography units for Term 4. The teachers participated in professional development which gave them opportunities to consider different ways of engaging students in their learning. Together,  teachers unpacked the Geography curriculum and considered how they could guide students to delve deeply into concepts such as Interconnectedness, Place and Diversity. There is so much excitement and enthusiasm in the classrooms and the output so far has been inspiring.  

 

On Tuesday, students were lucky enough to meet Jarryd who facilitated lessons on the concept of Natural vs Human Made. Students were asked to consider some of the geographical features and landmarks around them and the characteristics that make them natural,human-made, or, in some instances, both!
