Dear Families,
Welcome back to school for Term 4! I hope that you managed to enjoy some time off during the holidays, resting, resetting and reflecting. It is hard to believe that October is already well and truly upon us and that we are in our final term of 2024. We have so many exciting events planned for the remainder of the school year and we are looking forward to welcoming our community into the school for a number of these. This part of the year brings warmer weather, longer days and a wonderful sense of community as we move into Advent and the Christmas season. Teachers embrace opportunities to move learning into our beautiful outdoor environment and each week is an opportunity to take a step closer to our goals as we wrap up another wonderful year of learning and growing.
NFORMA PARENT APP NOW AVAILABLE
As you know, last semester we moved to a new platform, nForma, for reports. nForma now has a parent app, which will make accessing your child/ren’s reports easy and convenient. You can download the app for free from the App Store or Google Play. Semester 1 reports are accessible on the app now, and Semester 2 reports will be available at the end of this term. Ensure that you enable notifications when you install the app. Please refer to the guide below for more detailed information and feel free to contact us if you have any questions:
Please note: You will need to use the login information you used when first logging in to the parent portal last semester, otherwise use the ‘forgot password’ option to reset your password.
CURRICULUM OVERVIEWS
At the end of last term, Curriculum Overviews for Term 4 were posted on Seesaw. The purpose of these is to give families an overall picture of the learning programs that have been planned for the term. We hope that these overviews, along with regular Seesaw posts, provide lots of prompts for you to use to talk about your child/ren’s learning and growth.
SUNSMART POLICY
A friendly reminder that in Term 4, students are required to wear their school hats to and from school each day, as well as during lunch and recess. Students will also wear their hats for P.E. and for any other outdoor activities or lessons. Any student who does not have their hat will be required to remain in shaded areas. Students are encouraged to apply sunscreen before coming to school each day.
FRANCIS HOUSE CELEBRATION DAY
On Thursday of last week we celebrated Francis House and St Francis, the patron saint of animals and the environment. We had a lovely day honouring St Francis’ love for nature by praying for our pets and other animals, cleaning up and caring for our school environment, learning about the life of St Francis and eating delicious red doughnuts.
Thank you and have a fantastic start to the term!
