We had a fantastic turnout on the Heights Campus for our Diwali Celebration on Thursday, November 7th. Women from both the Heights and Springvale Campuses came together to enjoy a variety of delicious foods; filling the atmosphere with laughter, and participating in Bollywood dancing - with Mrs. Cottier and Mrs. Orme and other staff joining in the festivities!
A highlight from the past two weeks in the Women’s Wellbeing group on the Springvale Campus has been our Art for Happiness program, a three-week creative therapy workshop led by Master of Social Work students from the Australian College of Applied Professions. This program emphasises wellness, happiness, strength, and resilience-building activities. For the initial task, participants were invited to draw a place where they felt safe, resulting in a variety of beautiful interpretations, including images of a large tree with wide branches and a cozy bed in their family home. We look forward to the next session, which will also begin on the Heights Campus on Thursday, November 14th.
Additionally, we invite our Burmese community members to a workshop on Elder Abuse Prevention, hosted by South East Community Links and the Ethnic Communities Council Victoria, on Wednesday, November 20th at 12:00 PM. This workshop will be conducted in their first language, and we hope to see many of our families there.
Now, let’s take a look at our available Hub programs.
