Snapshots from Springvale Campus

One of the biggest highlights of the past couple of weeks on Springvale Campus has been the start of the Foundation 2025 Transition Program, which is aimed at ensuring a smooth start for all children starting at our school next year. During the Friday morning sessions, the children are practising some simple classroom routines while engaging in different activities designed to build their confidence, independence and a love for learning. While participating in these learning experiences children are also getting to know each other and their teachers. Starting Foundation is a big milestone and we want to ensure that each child and their family feels supported, confident and excited as they begin their school journey.

We welcome families to reach out if they have any questions or concerns about the transition process. Our teachers and staff are here to help and support you every step of the way. We also encourage you to talk about school in a positive and exciting way with your child/ren. Simple things like reading stories about starting school, discussing what they might do at school and practising school routines (like packing a lunch or getting dressed independently) can make a big difference. We can’t wait to watch our youngest learners grow, learn and thrive at SRPS!

Our Year 5 students have recently attended the Westall Secondary College  ‘taster day’ giving them a glimpse into high school life. They participated in a choice of electives such as Sports, Art, Cooking, or Brain Psychology. Students also explored various iCreate electives, including Westall Café, Landscape Architecture and Design, Visual Arts, STEM, Coding, Sport, Hip Hop, and Aviation. What an amazing experience for our Year 5 students who will soon start thinking about their transition to high school!

In other news, our lost property on Springvale Campus is overflowing with jackets, jumpers, hats, lunchboxes and water bottles. If you are missing something, make sure you come by and go through it soon!

Have a great couple of weeks and take care.
