Highlights from Heights Campus

The Senior Learning Centre (SLC) students have had a busy and productive few weeks, working hard across all areas of the curriculum and enjoying several enriching extra-curricular activities.

On Remembrance Day, our school captains led the entire school in a respectful minute of silence to honour those who have served and sacrificed during times of war. They spoke about the importance of remembrance and paying tribute to the courage and dedication of past and present service members. Students and staff joined together to reflect, creating a powerful moment of unity and respect within our school community.

Our Grade five students have also been diligently preparing their leadership speeches as they apply for leadership roles for 2025. Through careful planning and practice, they are learning to express their ideas confidently and share their visions for positively impacting our school. This process not only builds their public speaking and leadership skills but also strengthens their sense of responsibility and commitment to our community. We are so proud of their hard work and look forward to seeing their growth as young leaders!

Recently, the Grade five students also visited a local high school for an engaging "taster day", offering them a firsthand look at what high school life has to offer. They explored various subjects, tried hands-on activities, and toured the campus to experience the range of facilities and learning opportunities available. This visit allowed them to start imagining the new experiences and skills they will gain in high school, easing their transition and building excitement for the next chapter in their education journey.

The  highlight of the week however was when our SLC students shared the board games they designed and created with eager JLC students. The younger students were thrilled to play these unique, handmade games and learn the rules developed by their older peers. This activity showcased the creativity and problem-solving skills of the SLC students whilst fostering connections between the year levels as the JLC students enjoyed a fun-filled session of play and discovery. It was an enriching experience for everyone involved!
