Italian Day 

On Monday we celebrated all things Italian here at SFX. It was an amazing day full of Italian food, games, stories and culture. A big thank you to Signora Kelly for putting together another wonderful day. 

Maths

Over the past few weeks we have been focusing on Division. We have been learning how different numbers can be shared using efficient strategies, writing our own division number stories and solving worded problems. We worked on using our knowledge of multiplication facts to help us solve division problems, after all, division and multipication are best friends! This week we have begun learning about volume and capacity!

Writing

Last week in our Big Write we wrote about the Strange Egg. We used a writing prompt set up in the Red Centre by Ms Lisa to stimulate the students' thinking and creativity. We all got to paint our eggs and use them to think about what might be in the egg and what might happen once it hatched. 

Inquiry

We are currently in the middle of our Frame by Frame Inquiry unit. We are in the process of developing our stories for our stop motion animation and learning about the planning process that includes chararcter profiling and storyboarding. The students are working in pairs and over the next few weeks will begin the process of animating their stories.
