POETRY

Over the past fortnight, 1/2N has been learning all about poetry! We've explored poems that rhyme, cinquain poems, acrostic poems, and string poems.

Along the way, we’ve engaged in many random acts of kindness by creating beautiful, heartfelt acrostic and cinquain poems about our classmates and gifting them to each other. These moments in class were precious, and the students truly appreciated reading the loving words written about one another.

We’ve also worked in groups, building teamwork skills while searching for words that rhyme!

Oh isn't it fun,

when we work with everyone?

Working together,

is such a pleasure.

You will know for sure,

that there will be more!

To wrap up our poetry unit, we wrote a variety of string poems about our favorite animals. There were poems about pandas, rabbits, huskies, chickens, puppies, birds, and more—just animals galore!

COMING UP

In Weeks 8, 9, and 10, we will be running more basketball clinics! We are so excited to continue these and finish the semester with some enjoyable activities.

We’ve also been practicing our Christmas caroling. Your students may be singing at home, which we encourage! I hope you find their beautiful voices as magical as I do.

Lastly, tomorrow we will be constructing robots! If you have any recycled materials to donate, please send them with your child—we would greatly appreciate it.
