Faith Matters

Dear St Francis Xavier Families,

FAMILY/COMMUNITY MASS

It was wonderful to see so many of our students and their families at mass last Saturday. There was such a beautiful atmosphere within the church and afterwards during supper. 

I am so proud of all of our children who were genuinely excited about attending and joining in the celebration.  

A special thank you to those who offered to take on additional responsibilities such as reading, leading the entrance procession, 

the Gospel and Offertory procession. 

And, what about our fabulous school choir! 

They put a smile on everyone's faces with their joyous singing - I even noticed Fr Chinua having a bit of a dance along to 'Everything'. We are blessed to have a parish priest who engages with the children during the mass and encourages their participation. 

A huge thank you to the staff who attended to support the children and ensure everything ran smoothly - I am always grateful for your willing participation and dedication to ensuring events like this can be facilitated. 

CONFIRMATION

On Sunday, 10th November, nine of our Year 6 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation at a mass led by Bishop Tony Ireland. Congratulations to these candidates who undertook their preparation with interest and application. Bishop Tony met with them and several students from other schools, at a Reflection Day prior to the mass, to check in on their understanding of the commitment they were about to undertake and to introduce himself and put them at ease.  I am always so proud of our students and the way in which they conduct themselves on days such as these. Their behaviour and interactions with staff, other candidates and the Bishop are exemplary and frequently commented upon by the teachers from other schools.

Tuesday 17th December - Final 2024 school mass (Gratitude Mass) 1:45pm SFX church

Wednesday 27th November, 8:50am  'Getting Ready for the Season of Advent'

Families are welcome to join their child's class  for prayer.
