Learning together as one community
We sincerely apologise to our students who participated in the ICAS Maths assessment this year. Unfortunately, the certificates were lost in the mail and did not arrive as expected. We are pleased to share that new certificates are being reprinted and will be sent to us in early 2025.
In the meantime, we would like to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work and achievements of our ICAS Maths students. We will be recognising their efforts during our final assembly on Friday, 13th December.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to resolve this issue. Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience and look forward to presenting the 'real' certificates in the new year.
We are excited to celebrate someone who has been an essential part of our school community for over 40 years—our wonderful crossing lady, Barb.
Since 13th June 1982, Barb has been faithfully ensuring the safety of our students, staff, and families. Rain, hail, or shine, her friendly smile, unwavering dedication, cool eye wear and unique flair have brightened our mornings and afternoons, becoming a cherished part of Holy Spirit life.
To honour Barb’s remarkable service and the countless lives she has kept safe, we are proud to officially name the crossing area 'Barb’s Crossing.' A commemorative plaque will be placed there to recognise her extraordinary commitment and the profound impact she continues to have on our community.
This recognition is not a farewell - Barb is very much still with us! Instead, it’s a celebration of her incredible legacy of care, one that grows stronger with each passing year. We invite you to take a moment to congratulate Barb and share your thanks for her dedication to keeping us all safe.
A big thank you to Rebecca Sullivan, Chris & 6CW for acknowledging Barb last Friday.
THANKS BARB!!
On Friday 13th December, we invite all students to join in the festive fun by participating in our Christmas Dress-Up Day!
Whether it’s a small festive splash like a Santa hat or a touch of tinsel, or going all out in head-to-toe Christmas spirit, we can’t wait to see everyone spreading holiday cheer.
Let’s make it a joyful day to celebrate the season together!
Our final assembly will be held in the hall at 2:30pm on Friday 13th December. Come and join us to share some Christmas spirit and celebrate 2024.
Please return all books to the library for our 2024 stocktake. The library is also open before school on Monday - Wednesday for book return.
As the year comes to a close, we reflect on the many moments that have made this school year so special. From the laughter in classrooms to the achievements and our school production celebrated together, it has truly been a year of growth, learning and community.
Christmas is a time to cherish those around us, to share joy and gratitude, and to look forward to the blessings of the season. We thank you, our students, families, and staff, for your unwavering support, dedication, and contribution to making Holy Spirit a wonderful place to learn and grow.
May your Christmas be filled with love, peace, and happiness and may the New Year bring health, success and new opportunities for all.
Thank you for being part of our school family. I look forward to seeing you in 2025!
Warm Christmas wishes,
Kayla Flindt-Petersen
