Principal's Report

Report from our Principal: Duncan Arendse

Dear Parents, Friends and Father Arsenio,

My thanks to Andrew Conway who steps away as SAC chair after four years. I am grateful for his ear and advice. I look forward to working with Andrea Shaw who steps into the role.

I also would like to acknowledge the work of Kat Di Rago who is the P&F president. Again, another successful year of social activities and fundraising. Special mention to our deputy Kayla who backs up this work as well.

I also want to acknowledge the work of Lauren Cefai as the chair of the fete committee. She has been great to work with and her team provided a much-needed lift in our community in October.

Melissa Barrett our business manager / bursar has accepted a role at the VCEA, the governors of Catholic Education in the state. As a result of her quick departure Laurel Hill assisted at short notice till an appointment could be made. As a result, Sheridan Leeson has been appointed. I look forward to welcoming Sheridan next year.

There has been a lot of discussion around fees for next year. There will be further correspondence coming on the matter. Please reach out to Laurel or I if there is financial hardship in the meantime.

Classes for 2025 have been published. As per usual it is a job and a half to get these right. Going to straight grades for a second year has not made this any easier. I would like to thank Ben and Rachel as well as the class teachers who spent an inordinate amount of time on these. Students have their second 'Move Up'  day on Monday in their new rooms with their new teachers. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you would like to see either the teacher or room.

Reports will be coming home shortly. Please make sure you speak with your child's teacher if you have any questions.

Behaviour expectations have not lapsed or altered in any way. I would appreciate if you could remind your child of what is expected. I have had to intervene in a number of matters lately. Rest assured if we are aware we will follow up.

Our Parish hosted Carols are being run this Sunday. All students are participating so we would love to see you and your children here. Carol's start in earnest at 6pm. All welcome.

Have a happy, safe and Merry Christmas. See you back next year.

Duncan
