Working Bee - Come & Join The Fun

Saturday 23rd November – 10am to 2pm.

We invite the school community to join us for the Term 4 Working Bee this weekend on Saturday 23 November 2024 between 10am and 2pm.

Saturday 30th November is the reserve day if we can’t go ahead on the 23rd due to weather.

You are not required to be here the whole time, we understand weekends are busy with morning sports and birthdays. If you can spare an hour or two during this time block it would be very much appreciated. It's a family event, so children are welcome to come along and help out too! It also provides a great opportunity to meet other families from our school community while getting the place in tip top shape.

Our objective is to ensure our School looks its very best for the Family Picnic and Year 6 Graduation following.

Otherwise, if you're ready to get gardening, please take a few minutes to fill out the below questionnaire to assist us preparing for the day! Hope to you see you all there!

This form will close on Thursday 21st November at 4PM to allow the managing team time to plan.

Important Changes to how NLPS Collects Student Charges

Dear Families,

We are writing to inform you about an important change in the collection of student charges for the upcoming 2025 school year. In an effort to streamline our financial processes and ensure the timely allocation of resources, we have revised our payment schedule. Historically, Newport Lakes Primary School (NLPS) has put student charges up on Compass in November for the following school year and asked for payment of these in full / part payment in December. To accommodate family budgets and recognising that this time of year can be particularly expensive, the school will be trialling a new approach for 2025.

NLPS will post the student charges for the upcoming year in December on Compass and they will need to be paid in full by 30 January 2025. Alternatively, for families who prefer a split payment option, you may choose to pay in two instalments: the first instalment is due by 30 January 2025, and the second instalment must be paid by 30 April 2025.

We understand that this change may require some adjustments on your part, and we are committed to supporting you through this transition. Our goal is to provide a more efficient and predictable financial framework that benefits both the school and our families. If you have any questions or need assistance with the new payment schedule, please do not hesitate to contact the school's Business Manager via email at or via the  office.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support in providing the best educational experience for our students.

Yours sincerely

Kellie Holdich

Junior School Council Community Project

As part of our ongoing efforts to foster a spirit of giving and community connection, the Junior School Council (JSC) has initiated a heart-warming project to bring joy to the residents of Calvary Trugo Place, the aged care centre on Mason Street.

We are inviting all students to create something special for the residents. This could include:

  • A self-written story
  • Cards
  • Artworks
  • Christmas messages
  • Decorations

These thoughtful creations will be gathered and delivered to Trugo Place in a couple of weeks to brighten the holiday season for the residents.

This project is a wonderful opportunity for students to express creativity, empathy, and kindness while giving back to the community. Please encourage your child to participate by contributing their creations by the 3rd of December.

Thank you for your support in helping our students make a meaningful difference.
