Week 7 Term 4

St Fidelis School is committed to the care, wellbeing and protection of children, young people and vulnerable people in our community.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Athletics/Sports Day POSTPONED

Due to the extreme weather forecast for Friday 22 November 2024, the St Fidelis Annual Athletics/Sports Carnival for students from Foundation - Year 6 has been POSTPONED.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however, it was decided that the predicted 35oC maximum temperature for the Coburg area on this day could put students at risk.

We are currently seeking another date to conduct this event. We will keep you informed of the outcome.

STEM Art Show

Congratulations to Annette and Joe on a successful Art/STEM Showcase last Thursday evening. Thank you to all the parents who participated and supported this event, and a special mention to our talented children for their wonderful artwork.

A special thank you to the winners of the class silent auction class pieces – they were truly amazing.

St Fidelis' Family Night

What an evening filled with fun, laughter, and a true sense of community! The St Fidelis' Family Night on Saturday was an incredible success, with over 200 people coming together to celebrate.

It was lovely to see families connecting, getting to know one another, and strengthening their bonds as part of the St Fidelis community.

A huge thank you to Jessica, Josie, and Bec, along with their amazing committee members, for ensuring the event was a resounding success. Events like these require a great deal of planning and preparation, and their dedication truly shone through. Please take a moment to express your gratitude to them for their outstanding efforts. We are truly fortunate to have such a wonderful community and individuals who generously give their time.

As I mentioned in the newsletter earlier this year, the Parents and Friends group is not only a fundraising committee - it is also a social committee that helps build connections within our community. The primary goal of this group is to foster friendships among our families and staff while encouraging active parent involvement in the life of our school through various social and fundraising events. Social events like Family Night, are an essential part of developing a strong community spirit within our school. Thank you once again for a fantastic evening.

STEMMAD Nationals

Good luck to Joe and the EaziPour team as they travel to Brisbane to compete on Tuesday, November 19th. This incredible opportunity comes after their outstanding performance at the STEMMAD Showcase, where they won the Scienceworks STEM by Design Award.

Mr. Frazzetto and Ms. Pirrotta will join the children and their families on Monday, and I will be  joining them on Tuesday.

We are so proud of this amazing achievement and wish the team all the best as they showcase their talents in Brisbane. Go, EaziPour.

Sacrament Dates for 2025

I understand that many parents are eager to know the Sacrament dates for 2025. This week, I will be meeting with our new Parish Priests and the Principals of the other schools to finalize the dates. I appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process, which has taken some time due to circumstances beyond my control. I aim to share the finalized dates with you in next week’s newsletter. Thank you for your understanding.
