Because of Bethlehem
It’s beginning to look and sound a lot like Christmas!
The shops have had Christmas decorations and gifts in them for ages and, of course, there’s those Christmas tunes... Some about Santa and being naughty or nice... and some about Jesus being born...
Do you find yourself humming the tunes or singing along? Do you ever really listen to or think about the words of the carols and songs about Jesus’ birth?
On Wednesday, we listened to, reflected upon and sang a relatively new Christmas song by Matthew West, ‘Because of Bethlehem’. A song that not only speaks of the time Jesus was born, but the reason why he came.
It weaves together the story of Jesus’ birth, death and resurrection... Through Jesus’ sacrifice our relationship with God is restored. Because of that, we now get to spend eternity with Him.
It is a song that illuminates God’s love for us!
God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life. John 3:16 NIrV
As you go about your day, I encourage you to think about the lyrics of the Christmas songs and carols you hear, especially the ones that describe the birth of Jesus...

God bless you with His love, joy, peace and hope, not only this Christmas, but every day of the year!
