PRODUCTION

Down the Rabbit Hole

Thursday 14 November,  7:00pm

One Week Until Showtime!

With only one week to go, excitement is building as rehearsals for our school production are in full swing! Miss Sarah, Mrs Bowen, and our dedicated staff have been working tirelessly to prepare for opening night next Thursday. Our students have also been giving it their all, putting effort into every scene, line, and song. We can’t wait to share their hard work, talent, and creativity with you. We hope you’ve secured your tickets and are ready for a fantastic evening!

Production Photos

Tomorrow, students will change into their costumes, which have been brought to school for photos to be included in the production program. Special thanks to Mrs Taylor and her team of helpers for coordinating this effort with staff and students. Costumes will be sent home with students on Thursday, November 14, so they can arrive dressed and ready before the show.

Rehearsal at George Wood Theatre

On Thursday, November 14, students will travel by bus to the George Wood Theatre for a rehearsal. Costumes are not needed for this session. This technical rehearsal will help students familiarise themselves with the venue and stage setup.

Show Night Arrangements

Details about student drop-off and pick-up at the George Wood Theatre will be shared via Compass. This information will include arrangements, locations, and other essential details for the evening.

YEAR 6 LEADERSHIP ROLES

This year, we are introducing a revised process for Year 6 student leadership roles to engage students more deeply in understanding leadership. As part of this process, students participate in sessions on what it means to be a leader and the qualities that define effective leadership. For some roles, students will submit a formal application and prepare a speech.

We’re proud that every Year 6 POPS student holds a leadership role and is recognised as a leader in our school community.

This afternoon, we held an online parent information session to explain the new process, allowing parents to understand the values we emphasize and support their children as they step into these roles. Special thanks to Mrs Debono, Mrs Bullen, and the 5/6 staff for their work in revising the process.

PARENT PAYMENTS

As mentioned in last week's newsletter, the School Council has ratified the Parent Payments for 2025. The Parent Payments letter and contribution details will be visible on Compass tomorrow. Parents will be able to make their contributions starting Monday, November 11.

We greatly appreciate the contributions we receive from our families, as they enable POPS to provide valuable and well resourced programs for our students and help us maintain and enhance our beautiful facilities.

PLANNING FOR 2025

If your child will be leaving at the end of the year, please let us know in writing as soon as possible.

If you have specific social, emotional, or learning requests or things for us to consider when placing your child in a class, please email me by Friday November 8. Please be aware that we do not take requests for teachers.

Have a great weekend,

Ms Garrity
