Student reports

Semester reports for all students will be released via Compass next Tuesday 17th December. Please take the time to celebrate your child’s progress with them as they finish another year of schooling and ready themselves for a higher grade level, albeit after a well-earned summer break first.

This will be the first time our Foundation students have received grades for their Specialist subjects. At the same time, I would also like to highlight that for many of our other key learning areas, excluding English and Maths which must be reported on every semester, and PE at least once a year, along with Science from Yr 3 onwards, other subjects have to be reported on at least once within every 2 years.

It was lovely to see some of our Foundation students carrying home a collection of their artwork for the semester, yesterday afternoon. With some pieces mounted on card ready to adorn and be admired on family walls at home. When the busyness of the end of year has quietened down after reconnecting with families and friends, don’t forget to take a moment to also look through your child’s school books. I know our senior students have done an amazing unit of Poetry writing this term and what they have produced as writers is quite something.

So before packing away those school bags into cupboards for the next four weeks look for further reasons to celebrate your child’s achievements and growth over the year.

Stationery Supplies 2025

Don’t forget any stationery orders placed through Winc on, or before this Friday, 13th December, will be free delivery. After this date, there will be a cost for postage and handling.

Reflections

As the year comes to a close, I have been reflecting on this past year but also the past seven years. Just like our graduating students, I started at Oakleigh Primary in their very first year so I have followed this graduating class as they have moved through the school. I would like to wish them the very best. We sometimes think change is going to be scary, but really it is just new and different. I know their teachers have prepared them for high school and they are ready to start embracing the next chapter in their stories.  Good luck Graduating Class of 2024.
