What’s going on in the Leadership Centre?
What another busy and exciting week in the Senior School!
This week, our senior students proudly received their Leadership and SRC badges. It was wonderful to see so many family members and friends join us at the assembly to celebrate this special achievement. We are very proud of our senior students and look forward to seeing the positive leadership they will continue to demonstrate throughout the year.
In Year 5/6, students have continued their guided inquiry into Biomes. This week, they explored First Nations land management practices and examined how land development and human impact can affect different biomes. These discussions have encouraged students to think deeply about sustainability and caring for Country.
In Mathematics, Year 5/6 students began exploring divisibility rules. They demonstrated impressive perseverance as they trialled new strategies and learnt the “tricks” involved in dividing large numbers.
In English, students have been thoroughly enjoying their class novel. A surprising twist revealed that Morrigan Crow’s once foreseen future has taken a very different path… dun dun dun! This has sparked great discussion and excitement during reading sessions.
This week year 6s were randomly selected to represent their Leadership Team as part of our Leadership Kerrimuir Incursion. Students worked alongside peers from our school and two other local schools. This program focuses on developing and strengthening students’ leadership skills, as well as learning how to plan and organise events within their school community.
Lastly, it was lovely to see so many parents and carers at our three-way conferences this week. The Senior School team truly values these opportunities to celebrate student achievements and work in partnership with families
Warm regards,
The Senior Team
