Well done to all our amazing students for finishing up their swimming course. We are excited to share our last two weeks together - learning, growing, reminiscing and laughing! It is these moments in the year where we, as teachers, really reflect on all the growth of our students: the confidence they’ve built, the friendships they’ve strengthened, and the independence they’ve shown in their learning. We are so proud of their resilience, their curiosity, and the joy they bring into our classrooms each day.
As we head toward the end of the year, we look forward to celebrating every success, big and small, and making these final days meaningful and memorable for everyone.
Next week:
English: This week, we are revising the /ai/ay/ sounds! Students will be practicing saying, reading, and writing words with the /ai/ay/ sounds, such as play, sway, snail and train.

Mathematics: Next week, we will continue learning how to gather data by asking yes or no questions. Students will practise forming clear questions and recording the responses they receive. We will further be extending the application of data by exploring how the information collected can be organised and discussed. We are looking forward to seeing students engage confidently with their peers as they build their understanding of data and how it helps us make sense of the world 🌟.
Social Emotional Learning: Next week for SEL, we will be reading a beautiful story called The Invisible String. We will use the themes and messages from this book to support us as we begin transitioning from Foundation to Year 1. Students will be given the opportunity to explore and express how they are feeling about completing Foundation, and to reflect on the connections they have formed throughout the year. They will also share some important messages for their future Year 1 teachers, helping them feel confident, supported and ready for their next learning adventure.
Religious Education: Next week, we will continue exploring the topic of Advent, identifying each candle and understanding their purpose 🕯️✨. Students will learn about the four stages of Advent - Hope, Peace, Joy and Love - and the significance of each candle as it is lit. We will discuss how the first candle reminds us to wait with hope, the second invites us to seek peace, the third (the pink candle) encourages us to celebrate joy, and the fourth helps us reflect on God’s unconditional love.
Auslan: Next week, we will be revising all the Auslan signs we have previously learnt ✋🤟. Students will practise using these signs and apply them in real-life contexts, building their confidence and communication skills in meaningful ways.
