I know... we can't believe its come around so quick either!!
Leadership Mass (Bethany and Bethlehem Communities - Years 5 and 6)
Following our end-of year tradition, we will celebrate the years of learning for our year 6 students and the passing of the 'light of leadership' to our budding leaders for next year.
This will be celebrated on the 10th December at 9:30am in the church. Families and friends are most welcome to come.
'Francis' & 'Mary Mac' - Our Composting Tumblers
Do you remember our Composting initiative in previous editions of the newsletter?
The students in Year 3-6 at St Thomas the Apostle have been collecting their food waste over the course of the year. We now have lots of rich compost for the trees on our school site. Instead of adding all of our food scraps to the general waste bin (what a waste!) we have been adding it to our tumblers making loads of useful nutrient for our soil.
This is called, "being good stewards of God's creation". Pope Francis was a big advocate for taking care of our 'Common Home' - he had a lot to say about sustainability and our responsibility to take care of our gift of life. Mary MacKillop was famous for saying, "Never see a need without doing something about it"... So we did!
