Foundation News

We have had an exciting two weeks in Foundation. 

We went on a excursion to Galen to watch The Wizard of Oz, welcomed the Foundation 2026 cohort and had our very first transition up in the Grade One classrooms! 

In amongst all that, we have continued our wonderful learning routines and stayed focused and engaged in our learning.

In Reading, we have just finished learning all our tricky words for the year. 

We can now focus on some review to finish the year and ensure students have built a strong knowledge base before beginning Grade One.

In Writing, students are learning how to extend their simple sentences by using the words because and but.

In Math, students have continued to deepen their understanding of place value and are extending their knowledge to two-digit numbers. We have been using hands-on materials to create, order and compare these numbers.

In Religion, students have listened to the story of Jesus’ birth and have created their own class family Jesse Tree of this.
