Grade 4 News

The past two weeks have been very busy in Grade 4, with students enjoying a wide range of learning experiences.

We loved watching the Wizard of Oz performance at Galen, which was a wonderful opportunity to experience live theatre together.

Students also completed a full week of swimming lessons and showed great enthusiasm and persistence as they developed their skills and practiced water safety.

Our transition program has begun, with students taking part in their first session for Grade Five last week and another session scheduled for this week. These visits help students feel more confident and excited about moving into the senior area next year.

This Wednesday we are heading to Beechworth for our excursion.

Students will visit the museum and take part in learning experiences connected to local history, migration stories, First Nations perspectives, and a hands-on Bee School session linked to our science unit.

In Literacy, we are starting a new class novel The Iron Man

For writing, we are focussing on information reports and learning how to organise our information into paragraphs.

In Mathematics, we have been working on multiplication and division, exploring different strategies and applying them in problem-solving tasks.

In Religion, we are beginning our unit on the Jesse Tree as we move towards the season of Advent.

In Humanities and Science, students are learning about the life cycles of plants and animals and making connections to growth, change, and the world around us.

As we begin to wind down the term, we encourage all students to keep making good choices, stay focussed, and continue showing the positive behaviours we have seen throughout the year.
