Principal's message
St Monica's is a child-safe school.
We promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all students.
As we approach the final weeks of the school year, the energy in our classrooms is a mix of excitement and exhaustion. Our students have worked incredibly hard throughout the year, and it’s natural for tiredness to set in as we count down to the holidays.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Together, we’ve navigated challenges, celebrated achievements, and created countless moments of growth for our young learners. Their resilience and joy remind us why we do what we do.
In these last days, we’ll continue focusing on kindness, patience, and finishing well. Please encourage your children to keep giving their best effort while also taking time to rest and recharge at home.
This is an exciting opportunity for students to meet their teachers and classmates for next year and begin preparing for a smooth start in 2026.
A special acknowledgment goes to our dedicated teachers, who have spent countless hours thoughtfully planning student placements for next year. This process involves balancing academic needs, friendships, and wellbeing to ensure every child has the best possible start in 2026.
While we consider all parent requests wherever possible, please understand that placements are made with the overall needs of all students in mind.
There are a number of events happening next week - please make yourselves aware of the event times and dates.

Pick-Up: 3:15 PM
Over the past month, we’ve noticed students arriving earlier and earlier—some as early as 8:10 AM! We understand that many families have work commitments, and we appreciate the effort you make to support your children’s education.
However, please remember that our school is also a workplace, and we have set times for supervision to ensure student safety.
The YMCA offers before and after school care for families who need early drop-off or late pick-up. Please make arrangements with them if your schedule requires this.
Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of all students—thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment.

Please note: there are no penalties for under-16s who access an account on an age-restricted social media platform, or for their parents or carers. This change places responsibility on platforms to take greater steps to protect children online. The social media delay is a significant change in Australia's online safety landscape. This change will come into effect on 10 December 2025, however, most platforms are moving now to verify age.
We are pleased to announce that a Soft Shell Jacket has been added as an optional item to the school uniform. Students may continue wearing either the old light blue polos or the new uniform until 28th January 2027, when all students will be required to transition to the new uniform. All new items are available from Hip Pocket Golden Square.

Uniform Donations: Any old school uniforms can be dropped off at the office. These will be collected and donated to charity for responsible reuse and disposal. Thank you for supporting this initiative!
