Stage 2 students have been exploring the fascinating world of states of matter in Science this term. Our classes conducted an exciting experiment with custard powder, investigating how it behaves when mixed with water. Through hands-on testing, students discovered that the custard mixture acts as a non-Newtonian gel, sometimes behaving like a solid and sometimes like a liquid, depending on how it is handled. Along the way, we've had lots of fun learning about solids turning into liquids and vice versa, sparking curiosity and lively discussion. Our scientists in the making are certainly developing a love for inquiry and discovery!

Stage 2 students have been diving into the world of arrays and fact families to strengthen their understanding of multiplication and division. Using visual arrays, students are able to see the relationships between numbers, making it easier to grasp how multiplication and division facts connect. By exploring fact families, they are learning how numbers work together in related calculations, helping to build strong number sense and problem-solving skills. It’s wonderful to see their confidence grow as they discover new ways to think about numbers!

Surf School
Our recent visit to Collaroy for Surf School was an exciting day full of fun challenges and new skills. Students took part in a range of activities including an obstacle course, body surfing, flag races, and of course, surfing lessons. Through these activities, we learned important water safety skills, how to read the waves, and improved our balance and confidence in the water. The Surf School experience helped us appreciate the ocean while having a fantastic time working as a team and building resilience. What an unforgettable adventure by the sea!
