OLHC Murtoa

Our Lady’s new building is now fully operational, staff and students moved in last week.

We extend an open invitation to all to come and visit/tour. We’d love to show you our beautiful spaces, speak with you about our excellent teaching and learning, our intervention programs, and the holistic education we offer.

Supporting our growing community

We're excited to share that our brand new St Brigid’s College bus, Francis, is ready to hit the road! Thanks to Bevanart Signs & Graphics for the wonderful branding. Francis will do the Nhill morning and afternoon run, catering for our growing number of students travelling from Nhill and Dimboola. You’ll also spot Francis around town as it takes our students to sporting events, excursions and other school activities.

The name Francis was chosen through a student competition. Congratulations to Ayva Robertson for her winning entry, inspired by Pope Francis!

Conveyance Allowance

The conveyance allowance assists families with the cost of transporting their children to and from school.

To be eligible, students must live in regional and rural Victoria and live more than 4.8km from their nearest appropriate government or non-government school.

An allowance may be payable if students are conveyed to school by private car, private bus (usually school chartered) or public transport.

  • Private car reimbursement is calculated on a one-way travel distance between the student’s place of residence and the school bus stop.
  • Those eligible families who have already completed a claim form do not need to re-register for the Semester Two payment.
  • Application forms are available by contacting the school.
  • Completed Claim forms must be submitted to the school by 13th June 2025.
  • Detailed information on the conveyance allowance and criteria for student eligibility is available from the Government website: http://www.education.vic.gov.au/management/schooloperations/studenttransport.htm

Big Freeze 11 MND fundraiser!

Our Student Representative Council (SRC) has organised a Big Freeze fundraiser to support Fight MND and raise money for a cure for Motor Neurone Disease. The Freeze is happening next Friday, 6th June, with some very brave students and staff stepping up for the challenge!

Donations can be made early at the Front Office, or on the day. Can we raise over $500 and dunk Mr Raven?!

It will be a casual clothes day. Wear your sports team colours or dress in blue! There will also be a sausage sizzle for $2.

Parents and carers are welcome to come along. The sausage sizzle kicks off at 1:30pm, with the ice bucketing starting at around 1:50pm.

Thank you!!
