Level 3

Lately in Level 3:

Literacy

We have been working on writing information reports and have learnt about the features of this type of text. Level 3 students have been busy on the laptops researching facts about an animal of their choice, in order to make a comprehensive information report they will be publishing in the coming weeks!

We have also been looking at the features of fiction and non-fiction texts and the similarities and differences between the two. We have also been practising our self-monitoring and making sure that we understand what we have read and rereading if it doesn't make sense!

Maths

In Maths, we have been learning about fractions! Students have done a great job of splitting up a whole into parts and writing this as a fraction. Lots of new maths vocabulary has been learnt - such as numerator, denominator, improper fraction, mixed number and equivalent.

Grade 3 sport - students have improved their skipping and netball skills these past few weeks.

3SB and 3RL did a great job performing at assembly on Friday! Congratulations on your performance!

Excursion - our excursion to Mont de Lancey is coming up! Please consent and pay on Compass if you haven't already!

3SB and 3RL will attend on Monday 23rd June.

3MW and 3CR will attend on Friday 27th June.

This excursion will be tying into our Term 2 Inquiry unit based around ethics and help students to prepare a project. This project will be looking at how schools and life has changed in the past 100 years and the ethics surrounding this.
