TERM 2 WEEK 6 2025
Winter has well and truly arrived, and with it, we've seen a noticeable increase in student and staff absences due to illness. To help minimise the spread, we kindly ask that you keep your child home if they are unwell. Your support helps keep our school community healthy.
We also appreciate your patience as we work with a high number of relief teachers across classes due to staff illness. Many of our regular relief teachers (TRTs) know our students well. If your child’s regular teacher is away and you have questions, feel free to speak with the relief teacher. If they’re unable to assist, please email the regular teacher, who will follow up upon their return, or visit the Front Office. For urgent concerns, a member of the Leadership team will follow up.
Semester 1 Reports
Teachers are currently preparing Semester 1 reports, which provide a detailed summary of your child’s progress and future learning goals. These reports aim to give an accurate and objective reflection of achievement to date.
Please note that mid-year reports reflect progress against the year-level standard based on what has been taught so far. It is common for students to still be working towards end-of-year expectations. Teachers use their professional judgement to assess achievement at this mid-point, and where necessary, they will contact families to discuss interventions or how you can support your child at home.
Reports will be available via email and the EMS Community Portal from Monday 30th June after 12pm. If you need assistance accessing the Portal, please contact Vanessa on 8443 5544.
MultiLit Summit
Last week, I had the opportunity to present and showcase our amazing school at the 2025 MultiLit Summit - Advancing Effective Education, a national event focused on evidence-based education practices. I was the only school-based educator, and we were the only public school invited to present. This was a significant opportunity to showcase our school and the work of our dedicated staff and students to educators from across Australia.
Our presentation focused on how we are leading sustainable, whole-school improvement by developing empowered learners. We are shifting the focus from “performance mode” to “learning mode,” equipping our students with the tools and mindsets needed for long-term learning and success.
Key initiatives highlighted included:
Extensive strategic planning
Our Learner Qualities and how they are being taught across all year levels
Students are encouraged to set goals, self-assess, and share their learning
Families are supported to better understand how to help at home
We use a range of tools and student reflections to track growth and celebrate progress
The feedback from the presentation was extremely positive, and I have already made connections with a number of schools across Australia who are eager to collaborate and learn alongside us, which will support us to further strengthen our teaching and learning practices at LNPS.
This was an opportunity to celebrate the hard work of our students, staff, and community and to show others what’s possible when schools, students, and families work together.
This was more than a presentation. It was a celebration of the LNPS journey we’re on together. Thank you to our students, our staff, and our families. Your support, passion, and commitment are what make LNPS such a special place.
Here’s to continuing the work, together.

We are really excited to announce that Anton Starr will be continuing until the end of the year as our Assistant Principal, as Nik Skrob has been extended in his role.
