From the Principal

St Justin’s Primary School acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia's First People and Traditional Custodians of the land and waterways on which our school stands.

We pay our respects to the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, and their elders past and present, and emerging as we continue to proudly live and learn on their land.

Dear Families and Friends,

St Justin's Feast Day

Today we celebrated the Feast of St Justin, or Justin Martyr (St Justin’s Feast Day is 1st June). As part of our celebrations, we gathered as a community for Mass in our Parish Church. It was a beautiful celebration and we thank all those who were involved. We also thank the Parents and Friends for providing us with donuts for morning tea and running the P&F Hot Dog Lunch.

Thank you to all who helped make this day special for us all.

Division Cross Country 2025

On Wednesday morning our 13 students from Years 3-6 who had progressed to the Division Cross Country had their opportunity to race again for a chance to make the Regional Championships that will be held in June.

It was a wet and cold morning which some would say makes perfect cross country weather. The conditions were met with great optimism and attitude from our runners who were ready to take it on in the rain, hail or shine.

Our day got off to a terrific start with Sienna Z coming 2nd in the 12/13 Girls race to book her sport at regionals. Khiara S, Charli A and Mia B all ran amazing races as well with strong finishes. Following her we had another strong performance from Cristian L who snuck into 10th place with a gutsy finish to book his place in the 12/13 Boys race. Lachlan D ran his heart out to come in around 20th place.

From then on we continued to show true St Justin's determination with Sienna B and Mia G each running really strong races in the 11 Girls race and leaving nothing left in the tank.

To finish off our morning we had representation in both the Girls and Boys 9/10 age group. The girls kicked things off first with Charlotte G and Brooklyn D getting off to a fast start. Charlotte managed to dig deep and hold a really consistent pace, finishing 4th and booking her spot to the Regional Championships with Brooklyn finishing in a large pack of runners with her head held high and a big smile on her face.

It was then the last race of the day, the 9/10 Boys and as they took off Jackson D, Kabe M and Oli M all had fast starts. As the runners came back into view it was a familiar face leading the way. Jackson, holding a slender lead on rivals closing in on the finish line, he found another gear and powered home to finish first place. But if you blinked you would have missed it when shortly after Jackson crossed the line Oli and Kabe side by side egging each other on powered to the line to finish 6th and 7th respectively and also booked their ticket to the Regionals.

All of our 13 kids ran amazing races with 6 progressing through to Regionals which is believed to be a school record! We certainly have some wonderful athletes here at St Justin's.

Well done to you all and good luck to those running in a couple of week's time.
