Good afternoon everyone.  

 

Navigating a fast paced online world and keeping safe while being online is getting harder as it is growing faster than we can all keep up. We need to be more vigilant than ever before with protecting our children.   Please arm yourselves with as much knowlege that is available to you to keep your children safe online.  Trusted sites like SchoolTV, eSafe or Conrol Alt (formally Safe on Social) is a great place to start looking for the information that is relevant.

 

SchoolTV is offering an exclusive, one-off event on Digital Media Literacy & Safety from the insights of two of Australia’s leading experts, Susan McLean and Dr Michael Carr-Gregg.  They will share invaluable insights on how to empower young people to navigate the online world safely and responsibly.

Yesterday Aiden C, Kiara, Hunter, Harlow H, Pheobe & Finn headed off to  compete in the Regional Cross Country which was held at the Drouin Golf Course.  It was a lovely day for a run and all competed well.  Congratulations.  You all represented our school with good grace and enthusiasm. 

 

Today saw the last day of the 5/6 Winter Sport Program played at Mirboo North.  Their next winter event will be the Lightning Premiership which will be played at Mary MacKillop College.

 

As part of our leadership and pastoral care program, in the coming weeks, students in grade 6 will have a fantastic opportunity to visit local kindergartens in Leongatha and The Leongatha Children's Centre on a Wednesday morning from mid June thourgh to September.  On these visits, students will be able to put into action the leadership skills they have been developing throughout their journey here at St Laurence's. Students will assist the staff as needed and spend time interacting with the children.  We are very proud of the fine young people they have become and want to offer them every opportunity to grow.    A permission form has gone out tonight for children to have this opportunity.  Please fill out as soon as possible.
