Year 4 Commitment Mass & Reconciliation Week

Year 4 First Eucharist Mass – Sunday 18th May

This week, our Year 4 students celebrated their Commitment Mass, marking an important milestone in their faith journey. The Mass was a beautiful opportunity for students, families, and staff to come together in prayer and reflection, renewing their commitment to living out Gospel values in daily life.

Through their participation, the students embraced the call to discipleship — understanding that faith is not just something to believe but something to live and share with others. The involvement of families in the liturgy, through readings and offertory, highlighted our community’s shared journey of faith.

We give thanks for the continued growth of our young learners and look forward to supporting them as they nurture their spiritual lives and take active roles in our school’s mission to live Christ’s message of kindness, justice, and love.

Family Week 🌟

Although Family Week was last week, it's heartening to see that the acts of kindness are still continuing in our school community. Isabelle in the office received a lovely phone call from a local resident who wanted to compliment the thoughtful behaviour of one of our students. Earlier this week, the resident was crossing the road when her shopping bags broke, scattering groceries everywhere. A student, estimated to be around 10 or 11 years old, quickly ran to help her gather the items and assisted her safely across the road. While we don’t know his name, his actions truly reflect the spirit of kindness we encouraged during Family Week and it’s wonderful to see that spirit living on.

I have also received some lovely photos from Ethan in 3D, showing him continuing to help around the home. It's inspiring to see our students carrying these values beyond the classroom.

National Reconciliation Week 2025

Next week is National Reconciliation Week, a significant time for us to acknowledge and reflect on the importance of truth-telling, respect, and strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community.

The theme for 2025 is "Bridging Now to Next", which encourages us all to take meaningful action today to help build a more inclusive and just future. Throughout the week, students will engage in a variety of classroom activities that promote understanding, respect, and connection.

We warmly invite all families to join us for a special Reconciliation Week Liturgy on Friday morning at 9:00am, hosted by Year 4P. This will be a time for us to come together in reflection and community as we mark this important occasion.

Thank you for your continued support in helping our students grow in empathy, awareness, and action.
