Patisserie High Tea Event
During Term 2, Year 10 Patisserie students have been investigating High Tea experiences with the aim of producing their own. This task focused on collaboration, students worked in groups to develop a design based on a specific theme, which they would then demonstrate in the dishes and presentation of the food they produced. Themes included: 'Snow White', 'autumnal', 'fairy garden tea party', 'around the world' and an ingredient focused theme of berries.
This task attempted to move away from the screen to encourage students to communicate to create something original together, completing their planning and design into a folio. On the day, students invited friends and teachers to share in the experience trying some of the wonderful recipes groups produced. Students’ skills were on full display with some recipe examples including: homemade puff pastry, macarons, cannoli, and sugar cookies with royal icing. The success of the themed menus showed the care and engagement of the students over the past few weeks of planning.
Thanks to all involved with a special mention to Trish Corless who organised the ingredients for over 20 recipes in one double session.
