School Values

At the beginning of the year parents, teacher and students completed a survey to choose new school values that would best represent our school in 2025.

Results were collated, with many factors considered, to come up with our new school values

RESPECT

ACTIVE LEARNING

INCLUSION

Why RESPECT matters:

  • Promotes a Positive School Climate: Respect helps create a welcoming and safe space for everyone, reducing bullying and fostering inclusivity.
  • Encourages Growth and Collaboration: When students treat one another respectfully, it promotes open communication and teamwork, essential skills for success both in and out of school.
  • Develops Strong Character: Respect is foundational to many other virtues such as responsibility, empathy, and integrity. Students who practice respect tend to make better choices and develop positive relationships.

Why ACTIVE LEARNING matters:

  • Engagement and Motivation: Active learning makes the learning process more dynamic and enjoyable, keeping students motivated and curious about the subject matter.
  • Deeper Understanding: By engaging with the material in a hands-on way, students internalize concepts more effectively and retain information longer.
  • Critical Life Skills: The skills developed through active learning, such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and problem-solving, are essential for success in today’s world, both in school and in life.

Why INCLUSION matters:

  • Promotes Social-Emotional Development: Inclusion fosters positive relationships among students, helping them develop social skills, empathy, and emotional intelligence. Students learn how to work together, communicate effectively, and resolve conflicts in a respectful way.
  • Prepares Students for the Real World: In the wider world, people come from diverse backgrounds and have different strengths. Inclusion helps students understand and appreciate these differences, preparing them for success in a global, interconnected society.
  • Fosters a Positive and Supportive School Climate: When every student feels welcome and valued, it creates a positive and nurturing environment where everyone can feel safe and confident to participate, share ideas, and take risks in their learning.
