Principal's Report 

Dear Parents, 

What a fantastic week of community involvement last week was with our Fun with Mum morning on Monday, followed by our athletics day on Wednesday. 

Our Fun with Mum morning was a special event with mums, nannas, nonnas, yia yias and ngủs all joining us for a wonderful morning celebrating the exceptional work these people and others do in our families. A huge thank you to our small band of parent volunteers who set up and then manned the Mother's Day stall across the day. It is people like this that help to make these days so wonderful. No doubt this contributed to making yesterday a very special day.

The same can be said for our athletics day. There were so many parents and family members helping out, watching their children and having fun themselves which made the day all the more fun. By the end of the day students had big smiles on their faces, a chest full of ribbons and all looked ready for sleep. It's days like these that Mackellar such a great place to come to school. Thank you so much for taking time to come along and enjoy the fun and a big thank you to Emily Cugliari for organising such a wonderful, action packed day. 

And this level of involvement looks set to continue this week with our Education Week Expo tomorrow night. This year's Education Week theme is a 'Celebration of Cultures.' At Mackellar this means a range of community centred activities happening in classrooms from 4:30 - 6:30pm tomorrow night. 

We know this is right in the middle of dinner time, so the canteen will be open and selling all manner of hot and cold food, drinks and snacks. Over the past few years, this has become a major event for the school and we hope tomorrow night will be the same. Please come along, grab something to eat, and take part in some activities which highlight the diversity of our communities and the importance of every child feeling safe and welcome at school. 

And our last major event for a while is our 2026 Enrolment Information Night. If you, or someone you know has a child for prep next year, please come along to our Enrolment Information Night at 5:15 - 7:30pm on May 28th. We hope you can spread the word for us so we have as many interested people as possible.
