Physical Education

Welcome to Term 2!
For the remainder of this term Mr McKernan is on Long Service Leave and travelling around Europe. I am taking the students for PE and am enjoying myself immensely. Their enthusiasm for sport has been great.
The tennis courts have played host to us for most of this term to date. Foundations, Year 1’s and Year 2’s have been working on the fundamental skills of soccer such as kicking, dribbling and ball control. Years 3-6 have been working on their endurance and invasion games with a particular focus on defence.
We have also had our cross country at the start of this term with the older students running around the Apex track and the juniors running around or school oval. Some of the older students have gone on to compete at the next levels in Murchison and Yea. We have 8 students going on to represent St Johns at regional level in Benalla on the 13th of June, Good luck!
Our grade 5’s and 6’s have also recently participated in Winter sports over in Shepparton last Friday. All students embraced the wintery conditions, tried their hardest and enjoyed the day. Well done to the two T-Ball teams who will be going to the next level later on in Term 3.
