VCE VM

Our VCE Vocational Major cohort has grown to 20 this year, welcoming 14 Year 11 students into our program for 2025.
The combination of Year 11 and 12 students are exploring Personal Development Skills, working through areas of study focused on interpersonal skills, social awareness, effective leadership and effective teamwork to be positive contributors within the many communities we are part of over the course of our lives. Whether that be our school community, sporting communities, work communities or family communities.
In term 1, we had the opportunity to head to the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, students having the opportunity to see the many different industries that are needed to bring a large international sporting event together. Students able to employ their social awareness skills to navigate the many sponsors and education hub.
At the beginning of term 2, students were put to the test to see how effectively they could work as a team to navigate different clues taking them to different key landmarks throughout the city. Each group competing against each other to complete challenges at each stop, ranging from taking a photo to performing your own interpretive dance or karaoke song. Our winning team being Amelie K and Sarah W in Year 11, well done!
As we explore a range of different issues affecting our community, the VCE Vocational Major students embarked on an exploration of safety on our roads and the "Road to Zero" campaign run by the TAC at the Melbourne Museum. Here the students looked at different factors that influence our roads and ultimately the safety of people on the road to lower the road toll. A key highlight being the VR, which showed how safety features inside motor vehicles have changed and evolved over time. The students in groups were then tasked to design their own TAC advertisement, focusing on the influence of mobile phones for pedestrians and the importance of wearing a helmet when riding a bike.
