Student Achievements
Macen Dockerill and Julian McLeod
Recently, Macen Dockerill and Julian McLeod made it to the Grand Final within their division of Cricket. Playing for Para Hills Cricket Club U12s, both students were thrilled to experience their first ever Grand Final, playing against Golden Grove. It was a nail biter of a game, that finished with Para Hills securing the win by just 4 runs. Congratulations boys! What a thrilling victory.
All the best as you move into division one next season in U14s.
Audrey McKay
Earlier this term Audrey competed in the National Sprint Canoeing Championships in Penrith, at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.
Audrey competed for her club, West Lakes Paddle Sports, in the U14 200m, 500m, and 1000m sprints, setting a new PB in each event. Audrey was also excited to accept the challenge to take on the next grade (U16) in the fours with girls from Victoria. The experience of attending the Championships providing tremendous learning and growth opportunities. Last week Audrey had the opportunity to compete in the National PA Canoe Marathon and SUP Championships, her first marathon, held at Encounter Lakes another chance for Audrey to push her limits.
We wish you all the best Audrey and are excited for all that lies ahead of you.
SACSA Volleyball
Year 9/10 Boys
Endeavour wins Gold, Silver & Bronze!
Endeavour's Year 9 and 10 Boys spiked their way to medals in the first Volleyball SACSA carnival of the year. Our B team won gold,
our A team were runner-up receiving silver,
down by merely 2 points in the grand final. Finally, our C team came in with bronze. Outstanding energy, skills and Endeavour spirit were on display.
Year 7/8 Boys
A great day for the Year 7/8 Boys Volleyball teams, with our Gold team winning the Division 1 SACSA Carnival! The team played brilliantly all day, and although they lost to Emmaus during the minor round, we managed to beat them 31-26 in the Grand Final.
The Endeavour Silver team finished a respectable 12th out of 16 teams.
Well done to all students who played on the day and to Khoa Nguyen who coached the Gold team superbly!
Volleyball Overview
What an amazing week for our Volleyballers. We might need a bigger trophy cabinet. Overall, seven teams competed over the four days, showing off our sporting prowess. Three podium finishes on day one was just the start as our Year 9/10 boys all enjoyed success.
The Year 9/10 girls showed what quality training can do after finishing 5th and only narrowly missing out on the semi finals. This was a significant jump up from their 11th placing last year.
The talents of our Year 7/8 boys were rewarded with another gold medal, continuing their dominance at school and state level.
Our Year 7/8 girls performed admirably, losing only one game throughout the day, narrowly missing the grand final after a strong showing in the semi-finals. They concluded the day in third place.
Credit needs to go to the players for committing to weekly after school trainings where the outstanding coaching offered really has paid off. Thank you to those coaches, Tim Kupke, Lauren Dutton, Simon Madden, Lachlan Williams and Jack Pearse.
