What’s Happening in Performing Arts?

Foundation

Foundation students have continued to learn about their expressive skills (body movements, facial expressions, hand gestures and voice) and used them this week to explore different dramatic situations. Next week students will be an audience for the Year Six Clowns.

Year One

The Year Ones finished off their Chinese Opera Masks this week - adding some finishing touches with paint slicks, feathers, streamers and pipe cleaners. Students presented their masks at this week's Cultural Diversity Special Assembly. Below are some photos of students in 1GU wearing their masks.

Year Two

The Year Two are continuing to explore Fractured Fairy Tales this week. They have written their own versions and have begun to perform them in small groups.

Year Three and Four

The Year Three and Four students are deep in rehearsal mode for their Short Stage Plays. They are doing a fantastic job learning their lines and considering the Elements of Drama when rehearsing. Students will create props next week and will perform early next term to a younger audience.

Year Five

The Year Fives are up to the 'Solution' and 'Big Grand Exit' of their Clowning routines and will perform them early next term to their Foundation Buddies.

Year Six

The Year Sixes have completed their Clowning routines and have made their props ahead of next week’s performances. They will have one final rehearsal with costumes and then it’s SHOW TIME! I am so proud of the performance quality. Well done Year Sixes.

Have a great holiday break everyone!
