Artist Study in Years Three and Four
The past few weeks, students in Years Three and Four have been inquiring into contemporary artist Sandra Silberzweig and her amazing portraits. They have inquired into the Visual Arts elements of line, shape, pattern and balance and have used their understandings to create portraits of their own.
Students also used arts materials in different ways (for example using PVA glue as an outlining medium instead of an adhesive medium) and discovered new and wonderful materials such as Slicks. The concept of ‘analogous colours’ was also studied in these sessions. Students also wrote their own Gallery Card with their name, title of their artwork and materials used.
It was such a difficult task selecting the artworks below as they all deserved to be displayed. Look out for these on display throughout the school, however, class artworks have been uploaded onto Seesaw for families of these artists to enjoy!!!
