Year Three Team News

with Katja, Carmel, Rochelle & Mary

Hello Year Three families,

Firstly, we would like to congratulate our wonderful students for their efforts during NAPLAN. We are so proud of how they conducted themselves during the past couple of weeks.

What a fabulous, hands-on learning experience was had by the Year 3 classes, last Thursday, when they participated in the Billy Cart incursion. This event complimented the concepts we are exploring in our Inquiry unit, ‘How Do Things Move?’ Thank you to Carmel for organising this for us.

Harmony Week – Year 3 Lunch:

This week we have been learning about Harmony Week, which is celebrated all over Australia, to develop a greater understanding of cultural diversity and to foster respect for everyone who calls Australia home.

We had a lovely time getting to know about the cultural backgrounds of our families and enjoying a picnic together.

Coming up, on the last day of term, next Thursday, is the traditional Willy Primary Easter Hat Parade. We look forward to seeing the children’s creations. (There may even be a special visitor on the day!)

Thank you to everyone who has already donated something to our collection for the Easter baskets. The more items donated, the more tickets you buy, the greater chance you have of winning one of the magnificent baskets while at the same time raising funds for the school.

Reminder: Please send along a box of tissues to share if you haven’t already done so.

We wish all our Year 3 students and families an enjoyable, restful break during the school holidays.

Warm regards,

The Year 3 team – Katja Morris (3M), Carmel Byrne (3D), Rochelle White and Mary Colangelo (3W).
