Year 12 Basketball Game

Last Friday the St Pius X community bore witness to one of the most ‘unique’ displays of skill and athleticism ever seen by the college’s Year 12 cohort. Led by their respective captains, the four houses competed in a round-robin lunchtime tournament for the James Biggs Trophy. After several thrilling airballs and careful turnovers, Treacy and Rice found themselves in a competitive final with Treacy ultimately taking home the chocolates.

Youth Mass

On Sunday 24 February, students from both St Pius X and Mercy participated in a youth Mass at Our Lady of Dolours. The Mass was well attended by senior prefects and provided an opportunity for the schools to come together on Palm Sunday. After the Mass, students from both schools were able to socialise and enjoy the pizza provided. Whilst this was the last youth mass of the term, another one will be held at the beginning of Term 2.

Harmony Day

Over the course of harmony week last week, staff and students were encouraged to wear different coloured garments according to a separate theme each day. Several house points were awarded to those students wearing green for St Patrick’s Day, orange for Harmony Day, something to represent heritage and a favourite team’s sports jersey. Many thanks to all who participated in a successful week of celebrating inclusion and diversity.
