The inaugural term of sports for the year is concluding on a high note with notable participation, achievements, and outstanding results across various disciplines including Swimming (QGSSSA, Andrews Cup, and Britton Shield), QGSSSA AFL, QGSSSA Artistic Gymnastics and the BBI Club Basketball competition for Secondary boys.
The enthusiasm and dedication witnessed in these events and competitions will carry over into Term 2, where QGSSSA Autumn Fixtures such as Basketball, Football, and Touch Football will continue alongside a bustling schedule for students involved in Andrews Cup and Britton Shield sports programmes. Additionally, boys in Years 5-8 remain focused on their preparation and training for the Winter Basketball season, while preparations commence for QGSSSA Winter season sport programs and the boys club Futsal programme and ISSA Cup Football competition.

Age Groups: Years 7-12
Location: Nudgee College
Distance: All age groups will run the 3km course.
Information: Attendance at the Interhouse Cross Country Championships is compulsory.
This year’s event promises to provide new challenges as our houses compete for the coveted championship title. Whether you're a seasoned runner or happy participant, our interhouse events are an opportunity to showcase your house spirit.
Spectators are encouraged to come along and cheer on their house teams.

Madison Morris: A Rising Star on the Local Sports Horizon
In the heart of the bustling sports scene, there emerges a young dynamo, Madison Morris, whose journey from grassroots to the high-performance level is nothing short of inspiring. Hailing from the local ranks, Madison has swiftly ascended the ladder, leaving a lasting mark with her electrifying pace and unwavering determination.
Amidst the backdrop of a successful 2023 season, Madison has emerged as a beacon for the future of women's sport, particularly in the realms of rugby league and rugby union. Despite her diminutive stature, Madison possesses a rare blend of speed and agility that strikes fear into the hearts of her opponents.
The stage was set for Madison as she eagerly anticipated her debut for the North Devils Harvey Norman Women’s U19 representative team. A product of dedication and relentless training, she seized the opportunity with both hands, ready to showcase her talents on a larger platform.
It's Madison's exceptional speed that sets her apart. At full throttle, there's simply no catching her. Her ability to evade tackles and accelerate past defenders has earned her a reputation as one of the most formidable young talents in the local circuit. Yet, it's not just her physical prowess that defines Madison; it's her unwavering hunger for success that truly sets her apart.
Madison's talents have garnered attention at the representative level. Serving as a key player in the Met North U18 Rugby League team and earning a spot in the Female Future Maroons Academy, underscores her potential to represent at the highest level.
Madison's journey extends beyond the confines of Rugby League. In the realm of Rugby Union, she has left an equally indelible mark. Gaining selection in the Global Youth Sevens team at the prestigious University of Queensland, Madison has showcased her versatility and adaptability on the field. Her inclusion in the Elite Women’s 7s team for Brothers Rugby Club only solidified her status as a rising star in the rugby community.

Rising Star: Ivy Lauder Set to Shine at School Sport Australia National Championships
Ivy Lauder has been selected to represent Queensland at the School Sport Australia National Championships. At just 15 years old, this achievement highlights her talent and dedication to the sport.
The journey to the National Championships has been a testament to Ivy's commitment and tireless work ethic. Throughout her developmental years, Ivy has honed her skills, refining her technique, and competing in tournaments, all with the ultimate goal of realising her dream of becoming a professional tennis player.
The School Sport Australia National Championships stand as a pinnacle event, gathering the finest young athletes from across the nation to compete in various sports. For Ivy, this presents an opportunity to not only display her prowess on the tennis court but also to challenge herself against top-tier competitors and gain invaluable experience for her future career aspirations.
As Ivy prepares to embark on this exciting journey, she carries with her the support and well wishes of the Clayfield College community. With her determination there is little doubt that she will continue to scale new heights in the world of tennis. Andrews Cup Touch Football
Our Year 4-6 touch football players have completed their preparations and are filled with enthusiasm as they look forward to participating in the annual Andrews Cup competition, hosted by St. Hilda's.
Please note, the girls are to meet at 6:30am in the Tuckshop area. Spectators are welcome to attend to support the players. Please see the details below:

Andrews Cup Tennis
Our Andrews Cup Tennis players have honed their skills on the court in anticipation of the upcoming Andrews Cup Tennis competition in Week 10. Clayfield College will host this event at the UQ Tennis Centre. Girls participating should meet at the Tuckshop area at 6:30am for departure. Spectators are encouraged to join and cheer on the players.

Primary Interhouse Cross Country Carnival
Clayfield Sports Department are delighted to announce that the Primary Interhouse Cross Country will take place at the start of Term 2. This is a fantastic afternoon involving all Primary children in Years 2 - 6. All students will be required to wear their sports uniform to and from school. Colourful house accessories may be worn for this event. These accessories can be added once they are at Nudgee but must be removed before students leave at the end of the day.
