Harmony Week – Theme Everyone Belongs

Monday 18th March – Sunday 24th March 2024

Harmony Week recognises and celebrates diversity and brings together Australians from different backgrounds and cultures. It is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

Appropriately the following days fall within Harmony Week (Cultural Diversity Week):

  • Harmony Day, Thursday 21 March
  • National Close the Gap Day, Thursday 21 March - an annual awareness event that aims to close the health and life expectancy gap between the indigenous and the non-indigenous communities in Australia
  • United Nations Day for the elimination of Racial Discrimination

The colour orange is used to celebrate Harmony week as Orange represents meaningful communication between people. Students and staff are encouraged to wear a touch of orange to show your support of Harmony Week or to come in full Orange on the out of uniform day on Tuesday.

The College is celebrating Harmony Week through the following activities.
